Contemporary Western art show and auction connects art lovers and artists

The Heart of the West Show, a contemporary Western art show and auction, takes place Aug. 20-22 at the Coeur d’Alene Resort in Idaho. This event is organized by the Western Masters, which previously coordinated the annual Western Art Week in Great Falls, MT, from 2010-2014.

The show gives Western art lovers the chance to meet and talk to their favorite artists during receptions, demonstrations, and educational presentations. Attendees inevitably connect over a shared appreciation of fine art, while also supporting local, regional, and national artists.

Over 60 juried artists and galleries, including many previous Western Masters participants, will exhibit their work in hotel rooms that have been emptied of furniture to create a studio setting. The exhibitors’ rooms are open all day from Thursday afternoon through Saturday evening.

“I am very excited about the Heart of the West Show and Auction,” says leading Western artist Michael Ome Untiedt. “I am honored to have been asked to participate.”

Several special events are scheduled, including fun activities for all ages. A live auction takes place on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 22, featuring 125 lots of contemporary and consigned artwork from 90 artists. The auction is kicked off by a Quick Draw artists’ demonstration to benefit a local cause. The show also supports young emerging artists through the Medici Program.

The venue, Coeur d’Alene Resort, offers world-class accommodations, dining, golf and other activities in picturesque Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for visitors to the show. For more details on the Heart of the West Show, including details on participating artists and a schedule of events, visit heartofthewestart.com.
