Baroque Music Montana presents “With Concord of Sweet Sounds, featuring two viola da gambas - the instrument which reigned supreme during 16th and 17th centuries for its plangent sound, harmonic richness, and vast range. This concert highlights the mellow and melancholy character of this elegant period instruments, with enough virtuosity to satisfy the eager listener. Repertoire includes works by Josquin, Buxtehude, and Marais.
Musicians include violist da gamba, cellist, composer, and musicologist Eric Tinkerhess, collaborator and soloist specializing in historical cellos and viols with groups across Europe and the U.S Matt Zucker, and stalwart BaMM musicians Carrie Krause, violin, and John Lenti, lute.
