Celebrating Jane Austen

Celebrate the prolific British author with lively discussions of Austen’s work, focusing on Pride and Prejudice. Even at age 16, Austen showed exceptional talent and a scalding wit. Special presentations discuss the "bad girl" as a young writer. A panel will discuss writers who influenced Austen, and those she influenced, particularly Virginia Woolf. Finally, there are many excellent films based on Austen’s novels and the bookstore’s experts will explore those.
Balls and dancing are featured in every book Austen wrote, the evening concludes with a quick workshop to learn Regency dancing. Patricia Hampton, who has her own dance studio, has agreed to be instruct.
It is not too early to begin planning to attend in proper Regency costume!
