Continuum: Contemporary Native American Art

The Northcutt Steele Gallery is pleased to present "Continuum," a selection of contemporary Native American art curated by Nikolyn Garner and on loan from the Missoula Art Museum. The exhibit features works by Neil Ambrose-Smith, Corwin Clairmont, Jason Elliot Clark, Ric Gendron, John Hitchcock, George Longfish, Neil Parsons, Ernie Pepion, Sara Siestreem, Duane Slick, Jaune Quick-to-See-Smith, Larry Thomas, Marie Watt, Dwayne Wilcox, and Melanie Yazzie.
Featured in a gallery adjacent to "Continuum" are selected ledger drawings from MSUB’s Barstow Collection that were completed between 1879–1897 by Apsáalooke (Crow) and Hidatsa (Gros Ventre) artists.
"Continuum," on display Sept. 4-Oct. 3, is sponsored by the Montana Art Gallery Directors Association and supported in part by the Montana Arts Council, Montana's Cultural and Aesthetic Projects Trust Fund, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
