Divide is touring the state of Montana under the sponsorship of the National Endowment for the Arts and the Montana Arts Council. The name of the group,Divide: The Montana Jazz Project, refers to one of major geographic features of Montana, the United States, and the American Continents the Continental Divide.
The group is composed of internationally acclaimed musicians Loren Stillman on saxophones, Bob Bowman on bass, and Mark Ferber on drums. They seek to combine jazz tradition with spontaneous arrangements, weaving together melody and improvisation.
The final concert of the series in Missoula is a live radio broadcast featured on MTPR’s Dimensions in Jazz.
