Festival Amadeus is Montana’s only week-long summer classical music festival, centered in the scenic resort town of Whitefish.
The 2019 Chamber Cabaret Series at the O’Shaughnessy Center kicks off Aug. 2 with It’s a String Thing, featuring the Cascade String Quartet from Great Falls, and continues Aug. 3 with A Gala Evening of Voices, featuring the six-member cast of Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte Opera.
Tre Virtuosi, featuring William Hagen on violin, Cobus du Toit on flute, and Andrew Staupe on piano offer the third chamber concert, Aug. 7 at Whitefish Performing Arts Center and Aug. 9 at the St. John Paul II Church in Bigfork.
Orchestral Concert 1, on Tuesday at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center, is “Flute, Fire and Idomeneus” featuring flutist Cobus du Toit.
Orchestral Concert 2, Thursday, at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center, is “Turkish, Hebrides, Beethoven 4” with violinist Hagen.
The festival concludes with "Cosi Fan Tutte (or “The School for Lovers”) one of Mozart’s greatest comic operas, Aug. 10-11, at Whitefish Performing Arts Center.
