First Friday Reception: Exhibition - Raiz y Rama

Torrents is thrilled to present a magical evening of art and community. This month presents the special group exhibition "Raiz y Rama" (Root and Branch), guest curated by local Latine artist Krissy Ramirez, and meant to coincide with Día de los Muertos .
"Raiz y Rama" will highlight universal themes of life and death, and how traditions of Día de los Muertos have transcended through geographical boundaries. From ruminations on the strength of the human spirit where hope, healing, and the freedom that follows can shatter boundaries, to the ceramic recreation of favorite cultural dishes that bring loved ones together, to communications with the spirit realm, this exhibit will display a variety of viewpoints on the beloved cultural holiday as well as what makes us all human despite differences.
