Generative Creative Nonfiction Class with Amy Leach

Nov 4 - Nov 20

Attention enriches writing; writing enriches attention; and both attention and writing enrich life.
In this six-session writing class, participants will be pursuing the rich life by cultivating attention, writing, stories and voices through wordplay and wordwork, generating pieces through activities and assignments.
The class will read their work out loud, providing each other with a friendly and attentive audience, and will have the cross-pollinating opportunity to be influenced by music, painting, and nature.
Amy Leach is the author of Things That Are (Milkweed Editions), The Everybody Ensemble (FSG), and The Salt of the Universe (FSG), a finalist for the PEN/Diamonstein-Spielvogel Award for the Art of the Essay. She received a Whiting Writers’ Award, a Rona Jaffe Foundation Award, and a Pushcart Prize and has taught creative writing courses at MSU, the University of Montana, and Northwestern University.
