Mission Valley Has Talent

Annual talent competition is seeking musicians of all stripes, stand-up comedians and spoken-word artists, dancers, gymnasts, and anyone with talent; age categories are 12 and under, 13-18 and 19 and over.
This year, winners from past years, winners from past years may compete, and contestants can compete as a solo-act plus be part of one group-act.
Cash prizes will be awarded in each category: first place winners, $250; second place $150; and third place, $100.
Deadline to register for the competition is March 2. Pick up registration forms at valley churches, banks, schools, senior centers or download from the website.
MVHT is a fundraiser for the Helping Hands Fund, a non-profit ministry supported by the Mission Valley Ministerial Association that helps county residents with various needs and provides referrals.
For the past two years the auditorium rocked with cheers of support for the performers, who have included pianists, vocalists, instrumentalists, spoken-word artists and gymnasts. The first two events raised more than $10,000 for the ecumenical project.
