Missoula Folklore Society Bal Folk Dance

Upstairs at The Elks Lodge All ages welcome. Join in the fun- the focus is on dancing. Participants will have plenty of help as dances are reviewed and new dances taught. Bal Folk dances are based on traditional dances gathered from all over Europe that have easy basic steps, everyone can get involved, and dancers are free from gender-defined roles. The music is based mostly on western European traditional tunes, but “amped up” with new arrangements or new compositions written for Bal Folk dancing.
