Online Monologue Workshop: Finding Texture through Psychophysical Gesture

“Michael Chekhov’s technique, Psychophysical Gesture, has become a mainstay in my acting practice. Once you have identified your character’s Objective (what they want), and Tactic (how they will try to affect the other person to get it), the psychophysical gesture can help bring that tactic to life in a non-literal way. By working through the gesture with sound, then text, then leaving the gesture to bubble underneath as you deliver the text, your character’s inner world appears without forcing. This workshop is for anyone who has felt they are “just saying words” arbitrarily, and are looking for more specificity and intention in their scene work/monologues.” Instructor Sylvie Tamar.
