The Annual Ice Carving Contest

Over the past decade, it has been a great day to support local businesses by shopping, or by catching a meal at one of the Uptown's great restaurants. Strollers can look for action all over the Hill as carvers chip away at ice blocks (each weighs more than 340 pounds) in front of Uptown businesses. Then judges will cast a cold eye on the carvings and rank them in adult, rookie and child categories for prizes and bragging rights. Shoppers can watch from a safe distance the progress throughout the day as carvers uncover beautiful carvings from within frozen ice blocks. Ice carving teams compete for prizes and bragging rights.
