The Tinderbox Movie

This comedy, filmed in Butte and directed by the late David L. Butler, stars Mike Nance, Mike Verdon and Brin Merkley. The Tinderbox is based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. A shell-shocked soldier returns home to Butte and falls in love with a beautiful young woman who is kept locked in a tower by her paranoid father. Wracked by poverty and mental illness, the soldier can only dream of ever being with his love.
One cold, dark night he discovers that the old tinderbox on his mantel will summon an oversized, inebriated leprechaun who can bring him anything he desires in the twinkling of an eye.
The film is rated PG-13. One show only, this showing includes an optional Q&A with filmmakers Elizabeth Cox and Rob Cox after the movie.
