Western Harvest Weekend

Oct 18 - Oct 20

Western Harvest Weekend takes place at the fairgrounds, Old Montana Prison, Elks Lodge, on Main Street and at Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site. This event features vendors, educational activities, and judging of home-cooked goods; learn about the history of southwestern Montana and the pioneers who helped settle the state. Highlights include:
The Great Escape 5K race, at 10 a.m. Saturday: not your typical 3K/5K, this run combines an escape room, an obstacle course, and a fun run into an all new, one-of-a-kind event ($35).
Ghost Walk with Ellen Baumler, 2-3 p.m. Saturday at the Hillcrest Cemetery ($5): recently retired after 26 years as the interpretive historian at the Montana Historical Society in Helena, Baumler has earned an enviable reputation as a storyteller, teacher, extraordinary tour guide, and passionate advocate of Montana’s lesser-known history.
Barn Dance, 7-11:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds’ Blue Ribbon Pavilion: dance features music by the John Montoya Band and a jitterbug contest ($10-$15).
