Join more than 4,100 runners, joggers and fitness walkers who participate in the Ice Breaker Road Race each year. The 36th annual race, April 26 in Great Falls, features three courses: a five-mile race for competitive runners certified by TAC-RRCA, a three-mile race/run for competitive and recreational runners, and a one-mile run/walk course for families.
The five-mile race starts at 1 p.m. at the Civic Center. The three-mile course starts at 2 p.m. while the one-mile fun run and walk starts at 3 p.m.
Considered one of Montana’s premiere running events, the Ice Breaker is ranked among the top 100 national running events by Runner’s World Magazine, and is geared for families as well as elite runners. All race participants are provided a long sleeve T-shirt, a finisher medal, and a free lunch following the event. Children can race the penguin, the race mascot, in the one-mile run.
