Independence Day blasts off in a big way with a three-day celebration in Roundup, located 80 miles north of Billings. The weekend is filled with parades, a midway-style carnival, a rodeo, a Buttons and Bows youth rodeo, a fun run, fireworks and other attractions. This event supports the Mussellshell Valley Community Foundation (MVCF) charitable grant program.
RIDE begins at noon July 3 with a parade on Main Street; another parade treks through town on July 4. Concerts feature the David Frizell and Marty Haggard Show, 7 p.m. Friday; and ZZ3, a ZZ Top tribute band, at 7 p.m. Saturday, both at the City Park. Brown’s Amusements brings rides, food, and other attractions to the city park on July 3-4.
The rodeo begins at 2:30 p.m. on July 4 at the Mussellshell County Fairgrounds. A Buttons and Bows youth rodeo starts at 10:30 a.m. July 5 at the Ridge Rider’s Arena, preceded by Cowboy Church at 8:00 a.m at the same venue.
Weekend passes are $25 for adults and $5 for kids; separate admission is charged for the rodeo and the carnival. For information call 406-320-2572 or visit roundupindependencedays.com.
