Creston Auction and Country Fair celebrates its 50th anniversary April 1-3

Expired

The Creston Fire Department’s largest annual fundraiser is the Creston Auction and Country Fair, which celebrates its 50th anniversary April 1-3. This benefit for the all-volunteer fire department is the largest spring event in Montana and draws thousands of people across the region and from Canada.

The 50th anniversary includes several special activities and events, including a raffle for a gun safe, shotgun and commemorative rifle (tickets are $10 each or $25 for three tickets). The drawing will be held at noon Sunday.

Ready to clean out the garage or closet? Consignment Day is 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, April 1. As a consignment-based event, the Creston Fire Department receives only a percentage of the amount for which each item is sold. The remaining money goes to the consignor (unless they decide to donate the item and give the entire sale amount to the fire department). All commissions and proceeds go back to the community in the form of training and equipment for the fire department; donations are tax deductible.

The Opening Ceremony is 9 a.m. Saturday, immediately followed by the general merchandise auction. In addition, attendees may purchase locally made art and handicrafts at the Country Fair, pick up smaller items in the rummage sale, and sample homemade goods from the bake sale in the Creston Gym. Hot food and beverages are available for purchase both days.

The RV, Marine, Auto, Farm and Equipment Sale begins at noon Sunday. Bid tickets cost $5 on Saturday and $10 on Sunday.
