Yellowstone Art Museum’s second annual Masquerade Party, 7 p.m. Oct. 22, offers an opportunity to dress up in your most creative costume, and eat, drink, and dance the night away.

Yellowstone Art Museum hosts a masquerade party and ghost tours in October.

Members of Billings AlternaCirque perform and offer aerial wine pouring and DJ Benefit spins tunes. Tarot readers, hors d’oeuvres, and local draft beer are also part of the second annual extravaganza.

A highlight of the evening will be a costume contest with prizes and free souvenir photos for each guest. Tickets are $25 advance (ages 21 and over only).

Other Halloween-themed events at the YAM this October:

  • Explore the museum’s past as the Yellowstone County Jail during Haunted History Ghost Tours, 6 and 7 p.m. Fridays, Oct. 14 and 21. Tours are free for museum members or with paid museum admission.
  • Create your own unique mask just in time for the Masquerade Party and Halloween during a Mask-Making Workshop with artist Glenda Brauneis, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 13.

The YAM is the region’s largest contemporary art museum offering changing exhibitions, education, a café, consignment gallery, Visible Vault, and a 7,400-piece permanent collection. The museum is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is free for members, $6 adults, $3 students with valid ID, $3 children 6-18 and free for under 6.
