As winter finally begins to loosen its grip on Montana, Great Falls celebrates with the 39th annual Ice Breaker Road Race, held Sunday, April 22. Register by April 15 to be included in the drawing for early registration.
Join over 3,600 runners, joggers and fitness walkers who loop through town each year. The course starts in downtown Great Falls at the Civic Center, heads east through the business district, winds through several residential neighborhoods, crosses the scenic Central Avenue West Bridge and eventually ends up back downtown. Participants range from recreational walkers, families enjoying an outing, to serious competitive runners.
The Ice Breaker has been named one of the top 100 road races in the country by Runner’s World Magazine. It’s not only a competitive run, but also a social event for the community for over 30 years. The five-mile road race offers a competitive format; and the three-mile run offers both a competitive and recreational format. Pacer the Penguin challenges kids of all ages in the one-mile race. All race participants are provided a long sleeve t-shirt, and awarded a finisher’s medal and free lunch after the event.
Register the entire family in the one-mile jog and fitness walk and take advantage of the special family rate.
