Load up your car with friends and family for the best picnic concert of summer when the Glacier Symphony presents Symphony Night at the Farm on Saturday, July 7 at Rebecca Farms in Kalispell.

Or, for a more intimate concert experience, enjoy Denim, Lace and Pearls, 5:30 p.m. Friday, July 6. This “Dinner at the Farm,” a benefit for the Flathead Valley Community College ONE Campaign, features a meal catered by Sunnyview Catering, followed by a private performance by the Glacier Symphony, led by Maestro John Zoltek. Proceeds support a partnership to build a College Center at FVCC with performance hall that will serve as the symphony’s future home.

Glacier Symphony’s Night at the Farm

Bring a picnic and your favorite beverage for this summertime treat. The gates will open at 5:30 p.m., allowing patrons plenty of time to picnic and nosh with their friends.

The Glacier Symphony orchestra begins at 7:30 p.m. with a concert of light classical and pops music including The Blue Danube Waltz, Light Cavalry Overture, movie scores from “Lord of the Rings,” “Dances with Wolves,” “The Cowboys,” and “West Side Story.” Finales from Dvorak’s New World Symphony and the 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky round out the program, set against the backdrop of a summer sunset.

Bring low-backed lawn furniture and blankets, but no dogs or barbecue grills please. The event will be held rain or shine with large tents available in case of inclement weather.

Concert-goers can make the evening easier with reserved picnic tables. Specially selected vendors will offer ice cream, barbecue fare, gourmet foods and popcorn; wine, beer, sodas and water will also be available for purchase.

Entry is by the carload at $30 in advance and $40 day of concert. Purchase car passes in advance at www.gscmusic.tix.com or the GS Box Office, 406-407-7000. Patrons are also invited to take advantage of the new westside bike path in Kalispell and bike in for $5 per entry.

Rebecca Farm is located in the heart of Flathead Valley at 1010 West Spring Creek Road. Take Highway 93 north from Kalispell, turn west onto Reserve continue through the roundabout and turn left on Spring Creek Road. Follow signs to gate.

Please be advised that the walk from the parking area to the seating area can be some distance. Assistance is available, however coolers with wheels and carts/wagons to haul your gear is recommended. Those with limited mobility or in wheel chairs can receive rides or assistance upon request.
