Set in 1940s Indiana, a young and bespectacled Ralphie Parker (Collin Olson) schemes his way toward the holiday gift of his dreams, an official Red Ryder® Carbine-Action 200-Shot Range Model Air Rifle. An infamous leg lamp (must be Italian), outrageous pink bunny pajamas, a maniacal department store Santa, a triple-dog-dare-you to lick a freezing flagpole, and the Chinese restaurant Christmas dinner are just a few of the distractions that stand between Ralphie and his Christmas wish.

Other leads in the production include Chase Coggins as The Old Man (aka Ralphie’s dad); Trevor Cato as the story’s author and narrator, Jean Shepherd; Maya Hartig as Mother; and Teddy Cotton as little brother Randy.

Songs include “When You’re a Wimp,” “Genius on Cleveland Street” and “Ralphie to the Rescue.” Nominated for three 2013 Tony Awards including Best Musical, The New York Times writes, “I was dazzled. You’d have to have a Grinch-sized heart not to feel a smile spreading across your face.”

Tickets are $8-$12; call 406-837-4886 or visit www.bigforkcenter.org.
