The Missoula Symphony Association is gearing up for one of Missoula’s favorite annual traditions – the Holiday Pops! Concert, Dec. 2-4 at the UM Dennison Theatre. People are encouraged to bring the whole family for this holiday spectacular, featuring the Missoula Symphony Chorale singing alongside the orchestra.
To accommodate the popularity of this concert, the symphony is offering two evening performances on Friday, Dec. 2, and Saturday, Dec. 3, both at 7:30 p.m., as well as their usual Sunday matinee at 3 p.m. Dec. 4.
This year, Holiday Pops! will feature guest artist soprano Caitlin Cisler, as well as a “special guest from the North Pole,” is a program packed with holiday favorites, both classical and contemporary.
Although Cisler is from Appleton, Wisc., she’s no stranger to Montana audiences, having performed Grant Harville’s Soprano Quintet, written for her and the Cascade String Quartet, in 2021. At the same concert, she performed the Montana debut of Caroline Shaw’s And So. In 2020, Cisler was the featured soloist for Mozart’s Exsultate jubilate with the Great Falls Symphony.
“But it was Cisler … who floated and flitted and sparkled and sang, easily combining winsome appeal with coloratura chops. Her voice is clear and assured,” wrote Madison Magazine of her performance in La fille du régiment with Madison Opera.
Those wishing to purchase tickets for this concert and the remainder of the 2022-2023 season can do so online.
