Crazy for You is a romantic comedy musical with a book by Ken Ludwig, lyrics by Ira Gershwin, and music by George Gershwin. The show first captivated Broadway audiences in 1992, winning three Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

This delightful celebration of the golden age of Broadway features classic Gershwin tunes such as “I Got Rhythm,” “Someone to Watch Over Me,” and “Embraceable You.”

The story follows Bobby Child, a New York banker with a passion for show business, who is sent to Deadrock, Nevada, to foreclose on a rundown theater. Instead, he falls for the local postmistress, Polly Baker, and, to win her heart, vows to put on a show to save the theater.

Filled with mistaken identities, plot twists, and spectacular dance numbers, Crazy for You is a joyful homage to the spirit of the American musical.

“We are beyond excited to bring Crazy for You to our stage,” said director Mike Monroney. “This show is a wonderful mix of comedy, romance, and incredible music. It’s a perfect way to start our summer season and we can’t wait to share it with our audience.”

The Bigfork Summer Playhouse’s production features a talented cast from all over the country, dazzling choreography, and stunning sets that transport the audience back to the 1930s. The creative team has worked tirelessly to ensure that every tap number, every song, and every moment on stage is pure entertainment.

The beloved musical, Beauty & The Beast opened June 5, marking the start of the company’s 65th summer season.

Audiences are invited to step into the enchanted world of this modern classic, an international sensation that has been wowing audiences worldwide for over two decades. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature, the stage version includes songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Menken and Tim Rice.

Beauty & The Beast tells the timeless tale of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

The Bigfork Summer Playhouse’s production promises to bring a fresh and captivating interpretation of this beloved story, with a talented cast, stunning costumes, and spectacular sets. Directed by Jacob Sefcak, this rendition of Beauty & The Beast is sure to be a hit for audiences of all ages.

Footloose joins the repertory lineup June 19. Ren McCormack, a teenage boy from Chicago, and his mother move to a small town after his father abandons them. Upon arriving, Ren finds himself at odds with most of the town, including the Reverend, who has convinced the town to outlaw dancing.

With the help of the Reverend’s daughter and a country hick, Ren convinces the Reverend to let the teenagers dance, and in the process helps the town to heal from a tragedy that affected them all.

Kimberly Doreen Burns, who once performed in Footloose, returns to BSP as music director for the show.

Burns said, “I’m so grateful to be able to balance a life of performing, teaching, and now on the creative team side.

Finally, the award-winning musical Legally Blonde opens July 5. Based on the adored movie, the musical follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Action-packed and exploding with memorable songs and dynamic dances – this musical is so much fun, it should be illegal!

Madeleine Bain returns to BSP, playing Vivienne Kensington in “Legally Blonde,” Babette in “Beauty and the Beast”, Lulu/Others in “Footloose,” and various ensemble roles in “Crazy for You!”
