GermanFest Missoula
A Taste of Germany in Downtown Missoula
Celebrate the spirit of Germany as Germanfest 2025 returns to Caras Park on Saturday, October 4th. This beloved tradition, hosted by Arts Missoula, honors the city’s sister-city partnership with Neckargemünd, Germany, and invites the community to enjoy a festive day filled with music, food, and family fun.
Authentic Food and Local Brews
From the first bite of bratwurst to the last notes of lively polka, Germanfest offers something for everyone. Guests can savor authentic German fare—brats, pretzels, schnitzel, and locally brewed Bayern beer—while enjoying sweet treats like Big Dipper ice cream.
Music, Games, and Family Fun
The air comes alive with music from OcTUBAfest, setting the stage for dancing, singing, and plenty of Gemütlichkeit (warm cheer).
Highlights include the ever-popular stein holding competition, children’s games, and a bustling mini market featuring local vendors and cultural displays.

A Tradition of Friendship and Heritage
Germanfest’s roots go back to 1993, when Missoula and Neckargemünd officially became sister cities. Since then, the festival has grown into one of Missoula’s signature cultural events, drawing thousands each fall to celebrate heritage, friendship, and community. Beyond the food and festivities, Germanfest is a living reminder of Missoula’s global connections and the friendships that bridge continents.
