Huckleberry Bake-off Entries
For 44 years, the second Saturday in August has brought a sweet summer tradition to the shores of Swan Lake. The annual Swan Lake Huckleberry Festival returns Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, with huckleberry treats, handmade goods, live music and activities for the entire family.

The festival takes place at Swan Lake Day Use Park near mile marker 72 on Montana Highway 83. Festival activities begin at 9 a.m., but hungry visitors can arrive early for a pancake breakfast starting at 8 a.m.
Huckleberries take center stage throughout the celebration. The popular Huckleberry Baking Contest begins at 11 a.m. Bakers are invited to enter a huckleberry-based creation and must provide at least three servings for judging. Entries will be accepted Saturday morning beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Festivalgoers will also want to visit the Huckleberry Baked Goods Sale. Homemade pies and other berry-filled favorites are always in high demand, so organizers recommend arriving early before the pies sell out.
More than 50 vendors will fill the Arts and Crafts Fair. Shoppers can browse a wide selection of handcrafted gifts, Montana-made products, artwork, food and country-made delicacies. The fair offers a wonderful opportunity to meet regional makers and find something distinctive to take home.

Live music will add to the relaxed lakeside atmosphere. The Silverado Band will perform from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., giving guests plenty of time to listen, dance or simply enjoy the music while exploring the festival.
Afternoon activities will include kids’ games, a silent auction and raffles. Auction and raffle prizes will feature donated merchandise, gift certificates and products from area restaurants and businesses.
The Swan Lake Huckleberry Festival offers a full day of small-town hospitality in a beautiful outdoor setting. Visitors can enjoy breakfast, sample a favorite Montana berry, shop locally made goods and spend time beside the lake.
Festival proceeds help fund maintenance of the Swan Lake Community Center, allowing every purchase and donation to support the community behind this long-running celebration.
