Meet the new executive director
The Glacier Symphony Orchestra and Chorale is also introducing new executive director Anthony Wise, who arrived in February.
He previously served as the executive director of the York Symphony Orchestra in Pennsylvania, where he led strategic planning and developed innovative education and engagement initiatives.
He also founded and served as CEO of the Austin Summer Brass Academy, a workshop dedicated to young musicians.
His background as a professional trombonist is equally impressive. He spent more than 20 years as a tenured performer with world-class ensembles on three different continents, including the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic and Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra.
Raised in Central Pennsylvania, Wise’s love for music was nurtured by his artistic family and strong community music education programs. Now, he says he’s excited to bring his expertise and passion for symphonic music to the Flathead Valley, and plans to help GSOC continue to deliver timeless masterpieces with fresh programming brought together by Maestro Zoltek.
Wise will be in the lobby before the performance on March 15.
