“A Lonely Business: Isabelle Johnson’s Montana”

exhibition, on loan from the Yellowstone Art Museum, features paintings by the pioneering modernist, who was also a rancher and teacher. Montana’s landscape comes to life in her rich and expressive paintings. On display at the museum through October: “Chiefs and Warriors: Photogravures by Edward S. Curtis,” a display of 18 photogravure images by the artist, who took over 40,000 images of American Indian tribes during the first three decades of the 20th century.
