A Tale of Two Valleys: Jessica Hays & Todd Anderson

Jul 2 - Jul 31

LT Pick Free

Meet the artists during this opening reception for an exhibition of photographs featuring Jessica Hays in collaboration with Todd Anderson.
A Tale of Two Valleys explores connections between climatic shifts in vastly different landscapes. The exhibit features photographs from Jessica Hays’ series “The Sun Sets Midafternoon,” Todd Anderson’s work with receding glaciers, and new collaborative works from both artists. Hays’ examines the immediate aftermath of megafires on surrounding communities and what the experience of local fires are like, interweaving narratives of ecological devastation, collective trauma, and climate grief.
Similarly, Anderson’s work asks viewers to think about landscapes that will all too quickly become places that once were, as glaciers rapidly retreat, and face the mortality of place.
Additionally, Hays and Anderson created together new pieces combining images integral to both their processes, which operate as both echoes and sounding boards for the other and tell new stories about our changing planet.
