4 Ravens Gallery showcases gallery artists Dona Miller and Sue Savage in its sixth exhibition of contemporary jewelry. These two artists both handcraft unique wearable art but their differing takes on contemporary expression highlight some of the creative possibilities available to fine craft jewelers.
Using more traditional fabrication techniques, Miller starts with reclaimed sterling silver and U.S.-sourced stones and adds inspiration from nature, history, and travel to present work with a contemporary styling.
Savage creates a color palette from polymer clay, augmented with various materials and cultural and artistic influences such as Mokume-gane and Italian sgraffito, resulting in colorful and unique art to wear.
The opening reception is 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, an features live music by The Sundogs all evening. 4 Ravens Gallery is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
