The Bridger Mountains are full of 300-million-year-old ocean fossils. Join Outreach Program Manager Ashley Hall and MSU geologist Dr. Devon Orme for a day of exploring the backside of beautiful Sacagawea Peak in search of crinoids, corals, and stromatolites.
This hike will be strenuous and cover five miles on foot with the option to summit Sacagawea Peak. Please wear solid hiking shoes. Bring a sack lunch and snacks, as well as plenty of water, and dress appropriately for the weather. The exact location to meet and details will be emailed the week before the trip. Lace up those boots and get ready for a good hike. The alternate date in case of bad weather is August 16.
