this gathering of works by Arthur Gonzalez focuses on ideas of invented compositions that are activated through archetypal characters and mutated personal symbols. These symbols are used by a cast of personalities that meander through a background of visual triggers.
The internationally exhibited artist has has more than 35 solo exhibitions in the last 25 years.
Bypassed: Works by Helen Rietz is on display Aug. 21-Nov. 23, and When the West Was Won, featuring recent works by Gordon McConnell, fills the Sherman Gallery Aug. 20-Nov. 2.
