Artist Reception: Refraction: Works by Renée Brown

In her first Missoula show since her 2015 Missoula Art Museum exhibit, Renée Brown introduces a new body of work in Refraction. Brown continues to explore curiosities from the mineral world, transforming ceramic, optical resins and various unexpected media into sculptural compositions which would not rationally be found in nature. The exhibit brings her full circle to Clay Studio of Missoula, where Brown first came to Missoula as a long-term artist in residence in 2008. It was during this residency that she fell in love with Missoula and decided to join the community and put down roots.
