Baroque Music Montana presents its season finale, Baroque Quintessence! Featuring resplendent works from France on period instruments, the program explores the artistically rich world of Louis XIV through dance, exotic character, and pompous parade music. BaMM’s ensemble expands to include three rich violas alongside violin, cello, and lute.
Lully’s "Le Bourgeois gentilhomme" features incidental music from Molière’s satirical play. Muffat’s Sonata V from Tributo Armonico offers lush harmonies, while a sonata by Charpentier provides intimate respite. Rameau’s Dardanus suite concludes the program with its beloved lullaby and Tambourin.
Featuring Joe Crouch (cello), Max Mandel, Kyle Miller, Manami Mizumoto (violas), Lucas Harris (lute), and Bozeman Symphony concertmaster Carrie Krause (violin).
Picnics, sun protection, and lawn seating encouraged. Beverages provided. In the event of rain, the concert moves to Hope Lutheran Church at 7 p.m.
