The new feature-length documentary film “Best in Class” is based on the premise
that everyone has a favorite teacher. On that subject, Polson High School history
teacher Pat Danley is the first to come to mind for many present and former
students. Over the course of his twenty-five years of teaching, Mr. Danley has
quietly gained celebrity status in Polson, where he is often flagged-down by
enthused students, parents, and colleagues. Most of Danley’s students
appreciate his engaging, conversational teaching style, which is sprinkled with
humor and a genuine interest in them. He is also a Polson Pirates assistant
football coach whose players respond to his guidance and participation in
practices and games. “Best in Class” celebrates Pat Danley and his teaching,
coaching, and personal legacy.
