Each year on the first weekend of August, Bigfork Village transforms into a hub of creativity, music, and small-town charm during one of Montana’s favorite traditions: the Bigfork Festival of the Arts. Now in its 47th year, this beloved event is more than just an art show it’s a celebration of craftsmanship, community, and culture.
At the heart of the festival are the artists themselves. Strolling through downtown Bigfork during the festival feels like walking through an open-air gallery. With over 100 artists and makers, there’s something to inspire everyone:
Oil and acrylic paintings capturing Montana’s rugged landscapes
Jewelry ranging from fine silver and gemstones to playful, upcycled designs
Hand-thrown pottery and ceramic art
Custom furniture and home décor
Textiles and artisan clothing
Hand-turned wooden bowls and carved goods
Photography, from scenic landscapes to wildlife and creative compositions
Whether an art collector or a casual shopper, this is the perfect place to discover unique, handcrafted pieces and meet the artists who made them.
