The Bitter Root Water Forum invites the public to help clean up 155 miles of the Bitterroot River on Saturday, Aug. 13 in their annual Bitterroot River Clean-Up. There’s plenty of good, rewarding work to be done with friends, families, and co-workers.
Volunteers sign up for a walking site or floating stretch from Sula and Painted Rocks to Missoula, and clean up on their own timeline. Some volunteers even clean up on the Thursday or Friday before the collective Clean Up, and that's OK, too.
Volunteers who sign up will receive a voucher for a free pint of locally-brewed beer from one of three breweries from Darby to Stevensville, which can be redeemed 4-7 p.m. Aug. 13 at Blacksmith Brewing in Stevensville, Bitter Root Brewing in Hamilton, or Brigand Taphouse.
