Chautauqua Winter Series

monthly gatherings provide an entertaining blend of music, entertainment and original writing presented by area residents. Each participant performs 1-2 songs or a five-minute reading.
Nightly performances highlight 10 reserved spots with two swing spots available for impromptu appearances. Each program is preceded by a potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m.
First popularized in the 19th and 20th centuries, the Chautauqua brought entertainment and culture for the whole community with speakers, teachers, musicians, entertainers and specialists of the day. Today the tradition continues with a variety of writers, musicians and speakers taking center stage at the Elling House.
