Enjoy a special Docent-led tour at 10 a.m. Following the tour, sit in the exhibition space at 11 a.m. for a conversation on the art. Aura Sunada Newlin will discuss how the arts intersect with Asian American realities. She will situate contemporary anti-Asian hate in historical context, weaving in stories from the rocky mountain West. Aura is the Interim Executive Director of the Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation, and a descendant of Japanese Americans incarcerated at Heart Mountain during WWII. After the conversation, plan to stay for warm Thai vegetable curry in the spirit of the handwritten recipe collaged onto Untitled 2008-2011 (the map of the land of feeling) I & II by artist Rirkrit Tiravanija and used in his landmark conceptual exhibition in Untitled (Free), 1992.
