Crista Ann Ames, “Somewhere, Nowhere.”

solo exhibition features the sculptural ceramic works of current artist-in-residence Crista Ann Ames. Her figurative works have undergone a great deal of evolution and transformation during the past two years of her residency. Though she has continued to investigate large-scale forms, the works have stylistically become more abstract. The gestures and simplified approach gives increased emphasis on gesture, form, and color. The absence of clear facial features and details invites the viewer to engage with the expression suggested within the exaggerated and dynamic sculptural works. Her works are on display Sept. 1-29.
