Since forming in 2019, Dead Sky has brought together a talented ensemble of Bozeman musicians dedicated to spreading the timeless energy, unity, and good vibes of the Grateful Dead to both longtime fans and new generations of Deadheads.
These performances carry special meaning for Dead Sky and their Montana fanbase, as they will be the first without beloved keyboardist Joe Kirchner, who sadly passed away earlier this year. Joe can never be replaced, but the music never stops. As such, Dead Sky will be bringing special guest keyboard players with them each night.
The band recently shared a message with fans on social media: “In our last post, we mentioned the music Joe’s love for it, our love for it, your love for it. It’s the common thread that ties this whole community together. So, mark your calendars for December 30th and 31st. We booked these dates over the summer, and we’ve decided to carry on with them, greeting the New Year’s air with song. We will need your voices to help us sing them. It’ll be a family affair. Bring your hugging arms, your singing voices, and your dancing feet. Wear your tie-dye and your silly wigs. We can’t wait to see all of you.”
This year has also marked a deep loss for Deadheads worldwide, with the passing of Grateful Dead founding member and bassist, Phil Lesh. Dead Sky will honor his memory as they take the stage, celebrating both his musical influence and the lasting legacy of the Dead.
