The School of Theatre and Dance is thrilled to bring ELa FaLa Collective to the UM campus. This exciting all-female dance company, joined by seven current UM dance majors, will delight audiences for one performance only. ELa FaLa (which means “she speaks” in Portuguese) seeks to create bridges between art,technology, spirituality, culture, education, and science through a holistic vision of the world. Under the artistic direction of Barbara Lima, the Collective highlights and bolsters communication between these different communities of thought and discovers the many forms of medicine of their interaction. Their first work was born in 2015 as a co-produced dance for camera in partnership with Urban Body Project.
