Missoula Art Museum presents sculpture works by Noellynn Pepos in the Missoula Art Park and in the museum lobby gallery. MAM is commemorating Pepos, who passed away from natural causes at the height of her artistic career, in 2017. Noellynn Pepos was a versatile artist and skilled fabricator who had positive impacts on MAM, the local arts community, and beyond. She was known for welded iron and steel compositions juxtaposing graceful, natural forms with the heavy, industrial materials. The Missoula Art Museum hosted Pepos’ first solo museum exhibition in 2001. In 2015, she was the first woman to be awarded an Artist-in-Residence at Blackfoot Pathways: Sculpture in the Wild in Lincoln, MT. Pepos was born in Tacoma, WA and earned her MFA from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. The exhibition of Noellynn Pepos’s works is possible due to the generosity of her brother, Geoff Pepos, and his partner Cindy Knudsen.
