Bozeman artist Janzen talks about her work at 7 p.m. and California-based painter Thomas discusses his work at 10 a.m. Saturday. Janzen’s “Floodplains” is on display through June 25, and explores “the landscapes that have shaped my life,” using rivers as a metaphor. In “Ammophilia,” on display March 4-July 23, Thomas depicts quiet moments and places of transition along the California coastline through abstract drawings, paintings and prints. Through May 21: “The Process of Painting” features colorful and lively paintings from MAM’s Permanent Collection by the revered Bozeman artist Gennie DeWeese; and “Modernist Ceramics from MAM’s Permanent Collection” offers works by Frances Senska, Val Knight and Maxine Blackmer. On display through March 12: sculptures and prints by Bozeman artist John Buck in “Free for All”; and “Good Wood: Carved and Cut from MAM’s Permanent Collection.” “Hellgate’s Finest Fine Art,” March 29-May 26, showcases works by the high school’s art students.
