Friday Forum: Bozeman’s New Land Development Code

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Montana State University will host its monthly Friday Forum titled “Bozeman’s New Land Development Code: How Did We Get Here and Where Do We Expect to Go?”
In August 2023, the City of Bozeman unveiled a draft of proposed revisions to the city’s Unified Development Code (UDC). The City Commission, in response to public comment, supported additional public engagement before moving the project forward. After two more years of extensive community engagement efforts, public hearings, changes in law from the state legislature, and work sessions with the city commission, a new draft was finalized and the commission adopted it on December 16, 2025. The new code took effect on February 1 of this year.
