“Hear the Whistle Blow! Art of the Railway”

one-of-a-kind exhibit of railroad paintings, drawings, and etchings was curated by local artists Jack Dykstra and Rob Akey. The original art shows the diverse aspects of railroad subject matter as seen over the decades, from the early steam era to today’s highly technical railroading.
Historic and living artists represented in the exhibit include: Ralph DeCamp, Joseph Henry Sharp, Robert Goodnough, Howard Fogg, Ted Rose; and, Gil Bennett, J.Craig Thorpe, David Tutwiler, Chris Oldham, R.E. Pierce, Tucker Smith, Ned Mueller, and Oleg Stavrowski. Noted Montana artists include Jeff Walker, Steve Oiestad, Don Greytak, Karen Leigh, Robert Kercher, Jessica Glenn, and Mark Ogle. Selected historic railroad artifacts lent by the Stumptown Historical Museum will add to the viewer experience.
The exhibit continues through Dec. 7; associated events include Associated events include an Artist Talk by guest J. Craig Thorpe at 11 a.m. Sept. 27 and a Curator Presentation at 5 p.m. Oct. 16.
