Helena Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest, Helena style, means three days of events, guided hikes, BBQ, live music and, of course, beer and brats.
The event kicks off Friday at The Base Camp with a talk by Lynn Wiseheart and Jean Ella, the first women to through-hike the Continental Divide Trail.
The Montana Wilderness Association offers a guided hike up Mt. Helena, near Kading Cabin, or along MacDonald Pass Saturday morning. Sample the brand-new Juniper IPA, listen to Copper Queen, chow down on brats and pretzels and test your forearm mettle in a stein-holding competition Saturday afternoon at Blackfoot River Brewing.
On Sunday, learn about horsepacking in the Bob Marshall Wilderness and sample barbecue.
