Every three years, the Montana International Choral Festival brings hundreds of outstanding singers from all over the world to Missoula. The concerts showcase their phenomenal talent and bring the world here to the place we hold so dear. During the Festival, the cultural exchange and international good will is legendary, and many host families develop lifelong relationships with the singers.
The schedule of performances and their venues including the Outreach and Choir Crawl and Masterclass are posted on their website.
This year’s festival features eight choirs from Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Uganda, and the United States, showcasing traditions that span centuries and styles from ancient polyphony and culturally-enriched folk to contemporary classical compositions and indigenous rhythms. Among the highlights are the celebrated Estonian Radio Girls’ Choir, Estonia Tartu Choir of youth and adult voices, Georgia’s acclaimed Martve Ensemble, Germany’s award-winning LandesJugendChor Saar, and Uganda’s vibrant Franciscan Choir Kampala. The U.S. is proudly represented by Vox Nova, ‘Aiga Singers, and the University of Montana Chamber Chorale. The Festival also brings performances to rural communities in Western Montana.
