Jerry Rankin, "Golden Sunlight and Other Works"

Mar 5 - Mar 26

From Feb. 25 through March 30, the Northcutt Steele Gallery at MSU Billings presents "Golden Sunlight and Other Works," an exhibition of prints, drawings, and paintings by Whitehall, Montana-based artist, Jerry Rankin.
Rankin is considered one of the state's most significant artists. Mentored by Rudy Autio and Robert DeWeese, he has devoted himself to a full-time studio practice since 1985. Comprised of loans from Missoula Art Museum, Yellowstone Art Museum, and private collectors, the exhibition explores two decades of works that visually explore and express tensions that exist between the natural and man-made worlds, between the body and abstract form, between memory and reality. The resulting collection offers a moving, poetic meditation on relationships between personal and physical spaces.
Rankin’s print series, "Golden Sunlight," is traveling the state under the auspices of the Montana Art Gallery Directors Association (MAGDA).
