Some of the most passionate stories told throughout history began in ancient Greece. In ‘Metamorphoses,’ by reimagining Ovid’s beautiful poetry, pioneering playwright Mary Zimmerman brings his stories to life in a large pool of water--a metaphor that the cosmos is forever changing, whether calm as a lake or violent as a typhoon. The perils of Midas’ greed, the dedication between Orpheus and Eurydice even in death, the divine rewards for kindness to strangers, and many more stories are explored in this unique and beautiful production.
This production is presented as part of the curriculum of the School of Theatre and Dance. The University of Montana is committed to creating welcoming events.
