Contestants, age 18-24 from across Montana vie for the title of Miss Montana 2019. Everyone who enters wins at least $650 in scholarship money as they compete in talent, evening gown, interview and on-stage questions. Miss Montana goes on to compete in the Miss America Competition in Atlantic City in September.
Teens age 13-17 compete to represent Montana as Outstanding Teen and advance to Orlando for America's Outstanding Teen Competition. On Friday, the new Miss Montana Outstanding Teen will be crowned and the second half of Miss Montana contestants will perform talent while the other half are judged on evening gown and onstage questions.
The contest culminates Saturday, when the audience and contestants discover who will represent Montana at Miss America and be an ambassador for Montana throughout the state during the coming year.
Miss Montana is judged by a team of five judges on talent, interview, evening gown, fitness and onstage questions. The people's choice will be among the Saturday-night finalists as judging starts anew and the finalists compete in talent, evening gown and on-stage questions. Over $30,000 is given out in cash scholarships.
